Pentecost

Pentecost celebrates the day the disciples received the Holy Spirit, and the Early Church (Acts 2). Small flames appeared on their heads and allowed them to speak in tongues and proclaim the truth of Christ’s resurrection, eternal life, and forgiveness of sins. Those who believed were baptized and received the Holy Spirit as well. This is the longest part of the entire Church Year.

Colors of Pentecost: The colors of Pentecost are red to represent fire and the coming of the Holy Spirit. On the Sundays after Pentecost, green is used to represent the Christian life and growth in faith.
